Iran could stop enriching uranium and comply with the UN Security Council requirements. However, that is not what Iran's leadership wants.

Iran's leadership is doing everything in its power to provoke an American strike. Why? Because they believe that the outcome will be that the Shiites will win and set up a caliphate in the region of Iran, Iraq, Syria and Lebanon and from that vantage will attack Israel. Also, Ahmadi-nejad and other mahdaviats believe that when the Muslim world is in chaos then the mahdi will appear in Qom. Ahmadi-nejad has spent a lot of money on preparations for the mahdi and on weapons.

Yes. The Iranians can't stand Ahamdinejad and are most likely going to vote him out of office before they can have a nuclear weapon finished. Even Ayatollah Khameini doesn't like him.

If you ask me, Iran is going to dismantle their nuclear weapons program in 2010. By then there would be a more liberal president like Akbar Rafsanjani who is willing to negotiate with the US.

I agree with Clark. A nuclear armed Iran is a existential threat to Israel. Israel try to deal with Iran themselves. America is stuck in Iraq and Afghanistan and wouldn't have the ability to fight Iran as well. As long as there is chaos in Iraq that Iran is causing, we will have to stay there, and Iran can sit back and not worry about America attacking them.
