The green poo is probably the iron in the formula...breastfeeding is not easy because of the growth spurts..the first two months of babies life is nothing but a growth spurt and they eat constantly..some people say that their baby only nursed every three hours but I think they are full of crap..breastfed babies eat atleast every hour and a half. Wth this being said...more than likely your baby was hungry and you nursing was just fine..you probably did not need the formula...if I were you I would find a lactation consultant asap...you should be able to taklk to one for free at the hospital you delivered at, or call The LLL... and get your milk supply back up if you have been supplementing more than a week. If you have only been supplementing a few days then I would suggest just trying to relax...yes you will be stuck in your rocking chair nursing all day...offer baby the breast when he's hungry or just wants to suck and you will have a successful breasfeeding relationship. Your milk supply is endless...if baby gets fussy beccause milk isn't coming out fast enough then massage breasts untill your milk lets down. I know how hard it is to think your baby is starving..my son was like that for about 3 months...now at seven months he is only nursing every 3 hours(he does not eat solids except every few days) Good Luck...do what youu feel is right...email if you want to talk

She is only 7 weeks old and of course is going to feed all the time. Remember that babies stomachs are only the size of their tiny little fist. And breastmilk is digested really quickly.
So they can not eat huge amounts to last long periods. They need frequent feeds 24 hrs a day.
How do you know she isnt full? Because she feeds alot or is drinking breastmilk for long periods and is still able to drink a bottle of formula immediately following a breastfeed.
My babies were barely off my breast for the first 6 months of life. Because they do need constant feeding.
See your Dr and find out more. But I think it sounds like you just need to stick to breastfeeding and remember that her stomach is tiny and needs lots and lots of feeds. Also remeber to burp her properly, as breastfed babies will continue to drink more to get rid of gas. It doesnt work but makes them feel slightly better. So burp before swapping breasts and during feeds to if you feel she needs it.
