Just because you are in the Coast Guard does not mean that you are not allowed to act in local theatre. Do both!

I would hate to be 40 years old and wishing that I had made the move to the Coast Guard; by then it is too late. Actors and Actressess can have careers that go on their entire lilfe.

You also need to dtermine if you want to be an Actress or a Celebrity. They are not always the same. Being an Actress will give you a longer career.

If you're under 18, why not taking acting classes and see if you can succeed at it? If you're over 18, I'd look into the Coast Guard. It pays well and you get experience and learn discipline, and acting will always be there later. Also, the coast guard is a steady paycheck, and only 7% of experienced actors make more than $15,000 a year from acting.

Many successful actors have had previous careers. The more interesting experiences you have the more you will bring to acting. What are your odds of making it as an actor? Will joining the Coast Guard hurt your chances?

Think of what it is like to be a patriotic American in Hollywood.

I would be happier in the Coast Guard where I could do something useful.
