OK so the white part of my 6 month old sons eye is bluish with red lines like blood vessels in them. is it because he is tired or is something wrong please tell me what to do should i call the ER?

i don't think he got poked but he dose rub his eyes a lot so i guess it is possible

My guess would be that some blood vessels burst, probably from crying. This happend with both of mine and there really is nothing you can do. Our pediatrician has a help nurse that you can call 24 hours a day 7 days a week for questions like this. If yours has the same service I"d try that before rushing off to the ER needlessly. If they think there is cause for concern they will bring you into the office or send you to the ER. New moms (me included) tend to freak out about the littlest thing, but it's your right, you love your baby and would't want anything bad to happen. GIve the Doc a call, at the least it will put your mind at ease.

no this is normal. my daughter and son had this. the blueish part in the white, is a big indactaor (sp?) that your son will have blue eyes. the red lines are normal too, you dont need to go to the er but if you are concerned i would phone the dr, and or see the dr on monday, you can never be too safe when regarding your son.

First off calm down. I am a mother of 3 and been thru a lot. I would however call the doctor because your scared. My son I just had him 5 months ago he gets red eyes and my other 2 did not so it kinda scared me but it was because he was sleepy. However..... anytime your freaked out about your baby it is better to be safe than sorry. I couldn't find information on this I am sorry. but yes call the doctor if anything to give you peace of mind....I will be thinking of you so please reply and let us know...

sounds like he burst a blood vessel. Did he get poked with something?

If you are that concerned go to the ER if go and see his ped. Something like that I would take action right away.
