I took my kids to a party whereby the theme was "disco" (also for a 13 y.o.) All they did was made their lounge room dark, added only a few disco lights and played the music real loud.... The kids LOVED it....
Then there was the opening of the pressies, and cake, and before long the music was blaring again.... They ALL LOVED IT...... I still mark it as one of the most fun teenie bopper parties I've been to with the kids. Dont need much food - just lollies n chips n twisties, (cos it apparantly aint cool to eat), and drinks (they are still cool - fizzy coke rocks) and you should have some contented party goers by the end of it!!!!!
Have FUN!!!!!

ok, well, i'm 13 and i didn't have a party. my friend had a dance party and that was really fun. she had a d.j. which can be really expensive. you also have to rent a place to have the party. instead of having a d.j. you could burn a c.d. and play that. make sure it has enough songs for however long the party is. and i fyou know anyone with a big place that can hold a bunch of people.
if you decide that you can't do something as big as she wants she could just do a dinner/movie/sleepover thing or just dinner and a movie or rent a movie and lay on the couch.

Do a party. Stay in your room when the party is on. Trust me, Im 13 and for my 13th my mum made me have 2 mates(of her choice) over for a sleepover and it was the worst birthday ever. Let her have a party! You only turn 13 once!!! or even rent out a hotel resort for her and a couple mates.
Please. Let her have a wicked birthday and tell her I said Happy B'day :P

Well when I turned 13 I had a party. But my mom also took a couple friends and myself out to eat and to go shopping. What you could do is give her a a certain amount to spend and let her get what she chooses. But then after you're done with all of that you can if she wanted to have the regular ice-cream and cake thing at home with her friends. I think it will give her a sense of maturity, but with you there by her side.

Looking forward to the answers as my son is 13 soon and also have no idea. All his mates have had discos and his cousin had a limo ride with 6 mates for 2 hours, then went to a really posh restaurant with family.

Have a sleep over with her girl friends. Dont get involved like kids parties, let her do the organising. Just make sure you know what is going on and approve it. Let her invite boys over too, but they have to go home by a certain time. The girls will be giggling all night about 'who likes who'.

I'm having a hotel party for my thirteenth birthday. It really won't cost that much. Just order a pizza, pop some popcorn, and get some games. You shouldn't crowd them. Just make sure they don't get into trouble.

im 14 and my birthday party had the theme of hawaii u know everyone dressed with hula hula clothing!! it was a lot of fun!!
and with no parents as this makes it veryyy boring and you can celebrate another party with the family only so that it doesnt spoil it with her friends.
