Who is your favorite comedian ever and why? Disclude Richard Pryor because he is a legend. My favorite is Mitch Hedberg, may he rest in peace, because you think his jokes make no since but they make more since than you think. Even his jokes with no punchline are funny. I could go on forever about mitch but I hope i'll agree with y'alls comedians.

Eddie Izzard, Ricky Gervais, Hugh Laurie, Rowan Atkinson are definitely some of the best!

Though there have been dozens of great ones, I'd have to say Rodney Dangerfield, because everyone can relate to the feeling of getting no respect, dealing with difficult life situations, and thinking everyone else has it easier. Just watching him shake and sweat and stress about things made me both laugh and sympathize. Ha!
Plus he just had a great stage presence, and good material...
A girl called me up and said, "come over, nobody's home." I went over, and nobody was home!
I said to my doctor, "doc every morning I go to the bathroom, I look in the mirror, I wanna throw up, what's wrong with me?" He said "I don't know but your eyesight is perfect."
I was at the bar and told the bartender, "surprise me." He showed me a naked picture of my wife.
The other day I looked up my family tree and found out I'm the sap.
ok... that's it for now. Those were from memory.
Steven Wright is great, too, because of his dead-pan delivery and inventive look at familiar experiences.

So many to choose from - but I think the funniest was Sam Kinison. Like Pryor - nothing was off limits and the ability to go from quiet to a scream in a flash was amazing. Eddie Murphy would also be in my top 10 (but after Bill Cosby and George Carlin - but like Pryor - both of them are legends)
