i was driving on the freeway and got pulled over. btw the 101 has cops all over the place. anyways, initially he pulled me over because i was speeding. but then he said he smelled weed in the car. the thing is i didnt smoke or anything. but he said he smelled it and i stupidly told him there was weed in the car. so he searched the car and found some in there. he gave me a sobriety test and i passed. the question is what happens now? i know i have a fine to pay and have to go to court but i was wondering if theres a way that i can have it not appear on my record. i have this thing where i cannot have a drug conviction on my record so im hoping theres a way to get it off your record?? the car i was driving wasnt mine so can i just say that i didnt know the weed was in there and it was not mine????

I'd get a lawyer after your first court hearing. Say you want a lawyer or something, or public defender if you can't afford a lawyer.
Seriously...I went to jail for "fighting" my sister, and they dismissed it thank God. But I think it's still gonna be on my record.
Usually if they find drugs in the car they take you straight to jail i think, and if they didn't you're lucky. I'd go with saying that you didn't know it was in there and just pay the stupid fine.
Hope everything goes well. Stop smoking weed! lol. Just kidding, but don't get caught with it!

Don't be silly, you confessed to the agent you had the weed and you agreed for him to search for it, it would be worse if now that you accepted it you come with another version, you were already caught with the weed, don't make into a felony, which is worsen. What you gonna do, throw mud over the person who trusted you borrowing his/her car? Come on!! Grow up already. The judge sentence isn't something you can delete nor erase that easily from your record, if the judge finds you guilty whatever the sentence is it will be shown on your record. So act like a man and face the consequences, is your fault any ways, this wouldn't happened if you weren't be using drugs. may you didn't in growing up that fast, but when do silly things like that one you did, that's what happens, so hope you learned.

Well obviously you did not get arrested (which you souled have) so probably you only got a paraphernalia ticket. So go and pay the fine and learn out of your mistake and don't carry weed in your car no more. Bla bla bla ..the car belong to a friend.... You obviously were aware of the weed being in the car, so you might as well possessed it at the time you were stopped.
Don't try to talk your way out of it...cause you'll only make it worst on your self.

As others have mentioned, you already admitted to knowing the weed was there, so if you tried to back out of that it would look very bad in court.
You definitely need a lawyer. I can't stress that fact enough. GET ONE!
Then after this is over, you should move to British Columbia where you can possess weed legally.

Take it to court if it wasnt your car. but if it was then your screwed. you will have that on your record. move to denver i hear they let you legally have 7 grams or less. and let you go.
