In grad school, be single, perhaps in a relationship, but you're still figuring out your life for heaven's sake. You don't have a lot of money, you're perhaps going to have a career in a different city than your grad school, and you're still so young. So much can change! A relationship is okay, but marriage would be very hard. Single is probably best.

Anything other than (C), single forces you to divert too much time way from your studies. I'm in a romantic relationship and I'm two years into my getting my B.S. and it's difficult when I feel like I'm neglecting my boyfriend because my nose is ALWAYS in a book. I have a good friend who's married, too, and she finds that splitting her time between her husband and school is a major source of marital strife.

Bottom line, college is a time to find and reinvent yourself. If it can be avoided, make this personal journey alone.

a) in a romantic relationship.

mainly because i think that university can get very stressful and therefore wouldn't it be great to have someone there to support you and help you along the way. and to basically keep you sane as well. i mean you could be going to uni for numerous years, i can't imagine not being in a relationship for that long.....it's just my opinion of course, people are going to think i'm crazy hehe. ; )

I am in grad school and have been single since I started. I think a and b would be the best if they are good relationships, but if they fail they are obviously far worse.

It depends. I have been studying medicine for 6 years and now I'm doing neurosurgery. My study is a lot harder than of someone that's doing English or something. But getting married... Won't be so smart.

C- Single because you can concentrate on you studies, it is less drama, and stress. During college and grad school it is better to be care free and unattached for you can finish school sooner.

It's easier to be a liberal because then you don't have to think about the propaganda and platitudes your commie professors hurl at you. They can just be accepted as the truth. That's why the USA is doomed.
