Conrado is right, the rest of the answers sucked. Twice a week is good, what your looking for is to workout until your sore for a couple days. Then as your muscles heal they get bigger. To answer your question bench press is best but tricking your muscles maybe one out of 10 times with push ups would be good. Doing the same excersises over and over tends to let your pecs adjust to the trauma, thats why mixing it up with pushups may not be a bad idea.

Dude... it seems like the people in this forum dont have a clue about chest building.... Twice a week is good. You need time in between to rest your muscles and thats the real key for growth. You also need to supplent your body adequately. Try taking a protein supplement and make sure you get your 8 hours of rest. Trust me it helps!

You need to do push ups, pull ups and weight lifting daily for an hour to develop your chest

push ups are better cuz if theres ever a case when u cant lift weights for awhile all those muscles and strength fade but push up last alot longer

there is not something incorrect with lifting weights at sixteen. sure you will probly advance slightly extra yet lifting isn't gonna stunt your advance. do exactly not do something loopy. you are able to attempt to bench pressing. start up off with gentle weights (probable in basic terms the bar at first) and then upload on once you experience tender. yet once you are able to, have somebody to become attentive to you once you bench press. do not wanna by probability drop weight on your face!

you need to do it more than just twice a week. 5 times a week is about wright and you have to do more than one set of each exercise.
