I spoke to a Verizon rep today that convinced me to buy FiOS, the fiber optic internet service thats supposed to be 20x quicker than my current DSL service. The monthly charge is $29.99 for the first six months. Does this sound right? Does anyone have FiOS and do you like it?

My jealousy level is really, really high right now.
For $30/month, you'd be insane to turn it down. There aren't many places that FiOS is available yet, so if you're in the area, GO FOR IT! Fiber is an insanely fast connection. Here I am stuck with 1.5 Mbps satellite. :(

That is a very good offer, and it really is fast. You will be very happy. It's not available in my town yet, but I visited with some family that does have the Verizon FiOS and it was fantastic. Congratulations!
