there is NOTHING worse than seeing some little girl parading round with a ton of make up on. I think its awful, talk about bringing your child up to become vain.
consider your ban supported from me.

No! I would not support any such thing.

I don't like child pageants, but others might and I would not want to dictate what they should do...just as I would not want them to dictate what I should do.

I see this same attitude in hockey as well...boys are razzed by parents constantly...and some are even forced to play because daddy did. But I still love hockey and would not wish to have it stopped just because there are a few idiots around.

So, if you start banning pageants, what's next....and where will it end. So the answer is an emphatic NO!

Absolutely. It is so wrong watching these mothers trying to live through their daughters. Twisted is the perfect way to describe an eight year old being dressed as a 19 year old.
The sooner they are banned the better.

I agree...why at such a young age would you want to teach little girls that they must cover their face in make up and wear such glamorous clothes in order for your parents to be proud of your looks. Parents should think that their child is the most beautiful no matter what. No reward or contest should have to prove that.

Yeah its sick how these pagaent moms are so crazy living through their kids. Kids should be playing not doing hair and make up and basically looking like hookers, sorry to say but its like a pedophile special.

Yes. Let children be children. They are actually quite scarey all dressed up like painted little dolls. One wonders how this can affect them as they grow up.

yes, children do not need to be portrayed in such a way, so much emphasis on sex..a grown up kind of sexiness- it is just not right. too many pervs finding young ones alluring, just sickens me! we should let kids be kids

I think psychological evaluations should be done on them to determine if it is the child who wants to compete. If they don't pass, they don't get in.
