Um, let's rephrase, some Americans don't get the point: What is your perception of Filipinos? How do you perceive them??? I'm looking for their characteristics...

What do I think of filipinos?
I am one. Actually, half filipino, one fourth chinese and one fourth spanish...
Because of my Chinese side, I actually um find Filipinos cheap... They're the opposite of hardworking and we love to procrastinate...
About the comment on Filipinas being beautiful - she has to be mixed race (FilAm, FilChi, FilHispanic, FilCanadian)... I think. Because if you do see the REAL filipinas (non mixed race) you would get turned off....
Philippines is like a land of Mixed Races... Like 85 percent of everyone here is of different races.
Other than that, we're great!

FILIPINOS ARE THE PWNZ!!!!!!!!!!!!
we have some pretty cool things, but the thing we are most known for is our food. i mean we have tinikling (the dance where people step between moving bamboo) and other dances like that, but isnt there something really cool that we can show the world?
like the japanese have the Katana, we have giant spoons and forks.
but we are pretty cool none the less
oh and we also have parents that work hard to give the kids what we want. in return for our hard work, although you dont see many famous filipinos in America. but every now and then you hear about people like Prince and Jay Z being Filipino. But the best famous filipino there is in the AMericas is Apl De Ap (in my opinion). theres also Manny Pacqiuao (dont even know if i spelled that right)
and for the record im a full pinoy
and yeah the native pinays are pretty... not so... yeah
the igorots who live in the uber rural areas of the philippines, but since we are truly a diverse culture, we have different types of people. many of us look mexican, chinese, japanese, or even a mix of all three. i think im at least 1/8 chinese and some other stuff but at least 6/8 of me is filipino.
and yeah we filipinos may procrastinate, but we are able to finish our work on time because of the pressures to be good.

I have a very good friend who is Filipino. What I have learned about his culture from him is that they are very family oriented. I respect that throughly. Other than my friend, I don't know any other ones. As with any other race, I assume nothing. The only thing I feel safe in assuming is that they are human beings and, as such, they will all be individuals who I will have to get to know before deciding anything about them.

I dont know many. I know one girl and her sister - I thought they were Mexican. They acted like the white kids. Nothing stood out about them. They were annoying but it had nothing to do with their race, it was their personalities. Also my mom has a co-worker who is Filipino, and he's cool or whatever.
So... the only opinion I've formed about Filipinos is that to me they look like a mix of Asian and Mexican. Other than that... well, is there anything other to assume?? Theyre people. *shrugs*

The same thing I would think of anyone else, there are jerks and nice people all over the world. Most people are nice, and the Filipino people I know are very nice, too.

i love LUMPIA!!!
and i love to drink with all my Pinoy friends! (and dance and sing karaoke hahaha!!)
but im always the worst singer.... i havent met someone from the philipines yet that cant sing!!! it's crazy weird... a conspiracy i tell you...

From what I know, they are fun-loving people who laugh a lot. The women are quite possessive of their men.

a lot of them work for families I know, I think they are over worked and underpaid.
they are quiet pleasant natured people.
