Am a mother to my 1st baby girl, and well today I went shopping for some baby gear, clothing and games/toys. But I was kinda hesitant about buying this V-smile for babies but am not sure if there are other toys that are great for babies brain development. Can anyone help me with some tips and experience.
Thank you.

Peditricans say that children under two should not watch tv because the pace is too fast for their brains and can cause(in rare cases) brain issues-seizures- however they are thing make for babies like V-smile which should be good. My 6 month old likes that and the leap frog little leap pad with the books. Other toys I recommend for a new baby, there is this infantino toy, comes in a rabbit or a frog from target or babies r us..about$5 has a mirror and this "main" of colored crinkles around it.
Whoozit...I know it sounds weird and its hard to find but they have it in most specialty baby stores it has rattles and squeekers and a mirror. The leap frog band stand table is good for over about 5 months when they can sit on their own.

You want to save your self a lot of hassel get a bumbo chair...it makes it easier to play with them.

Don't over do toys. Babies like simple things. My Youngest is almost 3. He has lot of toys. But his fav is cars things that move. He also like things from my Kitchen bowls and spoons and measuring stuff. Boxes, are also a fave for my older kids 11 and 13 they loved boxes. Also things that make sounds. But not with all that music. 1 you are going to get tired of hearing them. 2nd it can damage the hearing.

Don't waste your money on the v-smile. Have one for 1 year old son and he's not interested. Hopefully when he gets older he will use it as its not the cheapest baby toy. He does really enjoy the baby einstein videos though.

my 2 1/2 month old loves her rainforest fisher price bouncer. she has learned that there are toys on it, so she is learning to grab for things and how to use her fingers. she also loves to watch the lights and the animals going up and down on it. if u look at it u'll understand what i am talking about. this entertains her for awhile which is very helpful for me when i need to get things done around the house. i can bounce with my foot while doing dishes for example.

a bouncy they will love with the little toys attached umm my little girl liked those little soft balnkets with the teddy bears attached to the top u can get them at walmart or any place like that but the womb sounds bear is a total waste of money it just sits in the way my little one hated it i would recomend something like the kick and crawl play gym she can lay on her back and it has a little mirror that hangs down and all this cute little stuff the secret is if it makes noise they will like it

both my children loved just being outside.. depending on the weather take your baby outside.. let her feel the grass on her toes..the wind tickle her face, i would lay a blanket on the grass and look up to the sky with my kids.. they would stare for a long time...i guess the feeling of textures, noise, light, taste alway got them interested..anything that made crinkling noises my daughter loved..my son love boxes and noise makers..if u have an infant or very young child then ajust outdoor exploring to her age..take care
