As a Tampa Bay Bucs fan, I say that even the least likely teams can win a super bowl in any given year. For fifteen years, I didn't think my team could win so much as a Pillsbury bake-off, though I stuck by them despite the laughs of others.
Then Tony Dungy came along, and the Bucs started being a playoff team. Then in Jon Gruden's first year, the Bucs won a Super Bowl. So if that improbable series of events can happen in Tampa, once the laughingstock of the NFL, then surely Detroit can have hope.

I would say the Detroit Lions have a chance to compete for a shot at the Super Bowl in the within the next 3-5 years. They are young, and are kinda sorta trying to head into the right direction......Even though you can say they did not win hardly any games at all last season......you can't say that they didnt PLAY HARD.......because they did just with some tough breaks.....as this team matures i would say they would be a force to be reckoned with in the coming years.

a super bowl? i don't know about that, but they have way too much talent to go 3-13 again this year. If they improve their offensive line this offseason, i think they will improve drastically. They've already taken steps to do that, acquiring a good lineman from Denver in a trade for Dre Bly. they also got RB Tatum Bell, who should help to fill the void should Kevin Jones be hurt for part of the year next year. My opinion about the draft: take Jamarcus Russel or Brady Quinn, whichever is available, and let him learn behind Kitna for a year or two like Carson Palmer did in Cincy. They aren't far from being a contender, if they can just start playing to their potential.

Their management sucks. They have the skill players and a decent defensive line, but Matt Millen gets too focused on getting what looks good, not what they need. Once they get a good GM, they should get into the playoffs.

don't hold your breath unless you can for a very, very, very, very long time. the lions won't win a super bowl for at least fifteen of twenty years. i don't hate the lions i'm just not the most optimistic person on earth.
