my mechanic checked the engine of my car by the computer and said it is 1206 ,

what is the 1206 in nissan altima 2000??!

1206 is not an obd code so your mechanic may have been puzzled by this code number. It's the ecu code and it is telling you that the tps circuit is faulty. ( Throttle position sensor). Nissan has the tps regulating the transmission as well and the problem could be within the transmission as well. Run the OBD to retrieve any drive train codes, if any. If there isn't any other codes relating to the transmission or the lock up torque converter, replace the tps. The only other ref to a 1206 code is for gm #6 injector, but since the Altima only came with a 2.4L 4cyl, I don't think #6 cylinder is your problem.

OKay the code always has a P in front of it... so it looks like the code is a P1206 which means an Injector 6 Open Circuit or Ground Short Fault. It is one of your fuel injectors for the number 6 cylinder.
