I was in the middle of wiping my hard drive with freeware i'd download, but my computer was so slow/infected, that it 'crashed' midway through the uninstallation of windows me, and now im stuck, all that comes up now when it boots up is a black screen...any advice at all would be awesome!

Btw, any other options of booting an O.S, cause an i.t dude installed windows me, but never gave us the disc...

a windows installation disk is a must. Rest is explained on the link

Well, first of all, you're going to need a operating system CD. You ought to be able to pick up a Windows 98SE disc on ebay at a good price (Don't bother with ME...it was a lousy system). Once you've got that on hand, just install it per the directions. Below is an example of WIN 98SE that can be seen on ebay. Good luck.

See if you can get a friend to download the windows me boot disk at the link below. Follow the prompts to create the boot disk and try and boot your pc from it. You should definitly upgrade to XP once you get the pc back up. Windows ME is horrible.
