i told that person i'd be there, that i wanna listen, and i am interested i don't need to act like i am, i'm bein supportive.. but still...

We should not interfere;
Leave him/her free;
Give him/her freedom;
Treat him/her with give respect and then take respect policy;
Stop scolding him/her for some sily reasons;
understand his/her requirements try to fulfill if it is feasible to you;
He/she is as that of you. So try to understand him/her
No emotions will work. So control your emotions.

Listen, be/act interested, give attention, be understanding, be supportive, come up with possible solutions... Most people feel that they are lacking in receiving attention.

write little love notes
give them a flower randomly
hold thier hand and tell them you truely love them
stick smiley faces on the face
take them to a movie
be creative
you;d be amazed at how much happier a person will be if you do this.

Give your full support and attention. Be with your love one, maybe u can get him/her some gifts to cheer them up.

try and tell them nice things like for example how much you love that someone and you would always be next to them to cheer them up
