What is former VP Gore saying about the cold we have in the east? Snow, tornados and record cold isn't doing his "Global Warming" threats any good. Do people still pay $500 to hear him talk about GLOBAL WARMING when they have to go outside and put on their snow tires?
Just curious.

You're spinning your wheels, Rusty!

So-called "global warming" proponents are not listening, because their "theory" is political, not science.

Anyone familiar with the scientific method knows that any theory must, in principle, be falsifiable. That means, there must be some phenomenon which, if observed, would tend to disprove the theory. If water flowed uphill, we would tend to doubt the theory of gravitation, for example.

All "global warming" proponents, however, from Gore on down, insist that every kind of weather phenomenon imaginable, whether cold winters or mild winters, whether hot dry summers or cool rainy summers, and even in-between, are ALWAYS considered further evidence of so-called "global warming."

Global Warming can cause many things that can not be fixed simply with winter tires. For example, the artic is actually ice and if we don't watch it it'll melt and then the animals there will have no land to live on. Carbon dioxide levels will go up making it hard for us to breathe. There will be an increase in tornadoes, hurricanes, and other natural disasters.
A theory is that we will warm up and then the Earth will naturally cool down causing another ice age. Then a hundred years later the Earth will return to the state it is right now. Also note that global warming doesn't exactly mean the Earth will get warmer. It will get colder (now who wants that?)

However here is the other side of the story with claims that Al Gore's documentry is pure lies.

1) Gore implies that the Aral Sea has been drying up due to global warming, but it's actually because the former Soviet Union diverted the rivers that once kept it full.

2) Gore says the ice caps on Mt. Kilimanjaro are disappearing due to global warming, but the British science journal Nature attributes this to the fact that humans have cut down forests, producing humidity around the volcano.

3) Others claim it's natural for the Earth to suddenly get warmer and that it will return to normal in time.

So fact or fiction? That's the question and it's your job to figure out the answer.

Weather is not the same as climate, and global warming has hardly got started. It was 31C here today and it is the beginning of autumn. That is unseasonably warm, but not unheard of. We are currently hoping that a six year drought is ending with some much needed rain over the past three or four weeks.

Global warming is global, not confined to the region between the Rio Grande and the 54th parallel. The mean global temperatures over the WHOLE of the Earth over the past several years have been higher than those previously recorded.

While this only refers to recorded mean temperatures it is still true. This increase co-incides with an increase in atmospheric carbon dioxide from about 300ppm in the mid 1960s to about 330 in 1980 or so and 380 now. If you don't think thats a big increase ask yourself this. Would I prefer $380 to $300?

As for Mr. Gore, I have not seen his film and probably will never do so. The fact that he has brought the fact before a lot of people may have something to do with his politics but politics has little to do with facts.

Phenomena in nature, such as cold spells occur, and will keep occuring, global warming or not. It is happening. It is here. it may be cold where you are, but that doesn't mean that it is as cold as a cold spell 100 years ago may have been, the change is a small one degree wise, but the impact on the way there world corks is massive.

It's winter, It's going to snow. Global warming doesn't occur overnight. It's not like all of a sudden cold, snowy winters will just vanish. If you listen to those who speak about global warming, they say the major affects of it probably won't even happen in our lifetime. The skeptics seem to think it's just going to happen in one day, and they completely dismiss the idea that we have a problem. But non-skeptics are talking long-term. They are making these so-called "threats" now, to protect our future, our planet. You can't decided to make a change when it is too late, now can you?

It seems youve forgotten the early winter weather here which was way above normal. People only seem to remember bad weather and then dismiss the fact that it is generated somewhat by global warming. we do live in canada therefore it is normal to have winter tires.

Maybe you should try to understand what global warming actually MEANS before trying to diss it. It's not everywhere on Earth getting hotter. It leads to problems like freak snow storms, hurricanes, tornados, etc.

Gore is a hypocrite. He uses more energy than most and then says he will buy climate credits to make everything OK. One of many problems: He owns the business that he is applying his credits towards. Therefore he is paying himself not helping you. I wish people would stop buying into his propaganda.
