I'm in a class called "Why they hate us... Other's perspectives of the United States" Anyway, it is an awesome class, and while I don't agree with everything we talk about, it is great to familiarize yourself with how other cultures view us as Americans... So as a non-American, how do you view us as Americans and why (if that is the case) do you hate us? Is it our promotion of individuality? the idea of American “exceptionalism”? The perception of our society as one of affluence?

YOU ARE NOT HATED FOR BEING AMERICAN TO BEGIN WITH SCOTT.
IT IS YOUR GOVERNMENTS POLICIES AROUND THE WORLD THAT BRING OUT THE HATRED TOWARDS YOUR NATION. IT IS WHAT YOU REPRESENT THAT IS DISLIKED, THE DOUBLE STANDARDS IN APPLYING JUSTICE THAT IS QUESTIONED, IT IS THE PREFERENTIAL TREATMENT THAT SOME ARE BESTOWED WITH IN STARK CONTRAST TO OTHERS THAT IS LOATHED, IT IS THE BIG BROTHER 'I AM RIGHT' ATTITUDE THAT YOU TRY & FORCE DOWN THE WEAKER OPPONENTS THROAT THAT IS TAKEN AS AN INSULT.
HONESTLY, IT IS THE FOREING POLICY AND THE APPLICATION OF THOSE POLICIESTHAT SHAPES THE PERCEPTION OF THE AMERICAN PSYQUE, FROM THE OUTSIDE.
HERE IN THE MIDDLE EAST, THE AMERICANS ARE SEEN AS VERMIN IN STREETS OF CERTAIN NATIONS, WHILE OTHERS WELCOME YOU WITH OPEN ARMS.......... YOU AS INDIVIDUALS ARE HUMANS, BUT WHAT YOU ARE REPRESENTING IS WHAT IS HARD TO SWALLOW.

Just like sarang said your foreign policies are not that popular. But individual Americans are a nice lot. Ive worked with them in London and New york and Ive never had so much fun in all my life . So cheer up and dont be afraid to travel bring you cheery spirit and you will be welcome anywhere . Except Tehran I spose.

Wow I don't even know where to begin. you have a class called why you hate us? and then your wondering why we hate you? I mean I am sure there are no classes in Asia how to hate American people.
you talk about individuality. Um mm 95% of teenagers watch MTV and wear GAP or whatever outfits thats not individuality sis. how is that your Individuality that you don't like Muslims. after all if some one is a Muslim it there religion why do we get stares at air ports?

Society where drugs, alcohol, sex is the most common thing could not possibly be liked by anyone. and honey most of all people hate USA for there Egotistic traits. Americans believe they are better then everyone else in the world.

Racist people are cowards who hide behind a veil of hatred to cope with their own insecurities and failures. Their hatred allows them to distract themselves from the reality of their existence:that they are capable of being just as impoverished, ignorant, filthy, and immoral as any other human being could be.
