Now with George Foster and Jeff Backus there is no real reason to draft Joe Thomas (Wis). Do you think they trade down or do they draft Calvin Johnson to put into Martz system. Dont get me wrong they will still be terrible. LOL

whoever they decide to draft with the #2 they'll probably ruin their career like they already did with rogers and harrington - check out the newly started web site http://michigansportsforum.com and sign up for FREE to talk and get discusssions going about michigan sports teams such as red wings, pistons, tigers, lions, wolverines, spartans, ect. spread the word.

I don't think you can pass up on a guy like joe thomas. He is going to be a great offensive tackle in the nfl. He will start along with backus and they will be blocking for tatum bell. Yea, the lions always find a way to be bad. Looking on the bright side of things, kitna had a good year, except for the interceptions which there were WAY too many of and his lack of mobility. Calvin Johnson will be great, but they already have two good receivers in roy williams and mike furrey. They need to draft heavy on the defensive side after the first round, losing dre and with fernando bryant being so injury prone.

i think it will improve their team drastically. they were probably the best 3-win team in the history of football, and i think they have too much talent to be that bad again. With Bell, they can implement the widely popular and successful two-back system, and now i think they will use their #2 pick on Quinn or Russell, whichever is available. They can let him learn behind Kitna for a year or two, like Carson Palmer did in Cincy. I don't see them drafting Calvin Johnson, because even though he is a BEAST, Millen will probably be drug out in the street and shot by lions fans if he takes another WR in the first round. I'm looking for them to be serious contenders in the next few years.

Have you seen George Foster play? He can't keep up with the edge rushers (which every team now has) I have seen him get beat for multiple sacks in more then one game. Backus is great though. Be happy you got a return for Bly, most teams just let them walk away.

Don't feel bad, I am a 49er fan, we just paid Nate Clements about twice what he's worth. Ya got to love Free Agency (I know NC does, lol)

The Lions need to draft a quaterback. There big mistake was cutting Harrington so fast..they need to build up their front line, and they are in dire need of a good running back....but with Millen ar the helm still, who knows what he is thinking...

The packers are solid yet you probably did knock out their QB and quite gained. And the bucs have beat up on undesirable communities so because it is not asserting a good purchase. however the lions are definetely getting extra effective.

LOL i would not be surprised, i mean Matt Millen seems to like 1st round WRs. i mean 2003 2004 2005 were all 1st round WRs.
