Yes; when you are pregnant, you have a lot more blood circulating through your body, since you have created all these new pathways to your baby. As a result, sensitive areas of your body can become even more sensitive. Your gums are more likely to bleed and your nose is also more likely to bleed. It is not something you should worry about; just try to be extra careful brushing and flossing. Congratulations and good luck!

Ok so.. I just came back from the dentist today.. it is norm. for ur gums to bleed a little while preg. because ur body gives off a harmon that helps uyr body tell when labor is due... this harmon is the same as a harmon in a coman gum problem.. if ur only getting a little pink in the sink ur fine but if its a dark red and ur gums are inflamed go to the Dentist as soon as u can.. thats my suggestion... coz trust me u dont want to get to the point im at.. at 34 weeks.. having them poke and scrap at ur teeth it hurts pretty darn bad LOL and Im sorry my spelling sucks :(

No way! Even if its due 2 gingivitis, u must see ur doctor. Saying that its due 2 increased blood flow is not wholly true; if that were the only reason, other mucous surfaces in the body like urinary passage, vagina, anal passage should also bleed without an inciting factor such as infection or bleeding disorder.

Yes. But continue to brush and floss like usual. Pregnancy can cause your body to do all sorts of goofy things. My friend at work is due next month and is so itchy she can hardly stand it. It will get better, really!
And congratulations! Enjoy your baby boy!

It is a sign of gingivitis, which is common but not good during pregnancy. Have you been to the dentist? If not you should go even if you dont have insurance. It can cause premature labour.

i had that to you should go to a dentist. It might not be a big deal since your so far along, but do it anyway. I'm not sure it goes away on its own. They gave me a mouthwash to help.

Yup, it's normal. Nothing to worry about. It'll stop once the baby is born.
