You would get penalised for spelling mistakes in the SAT.
Can you pick the three spelling mistakes you made here? Also sentence structure.
If you are serious, look at courses in remedial English to fast track your punctuation and grammar knowledge.
Check out your local TAFE perhaps or ask for tutoring help.
Those skills will rapidly improve your score. Also, the quizzes at school might not address the questions in the test.
Good luck, I'm sure you will do better the second time around. Never give up.

you can potentially do better, but at the same time the SAT is not everything.
I took it once, and made a 1040 (out of 1600), but my unweighted GPA was a 3.98/4.0. Plus, I had extracurricular activities (Honor's Society, BETA Club, etc.) and took all honors or AP classes, which made me look even better. In the end, I got into the university I wanted with no problem whatsoever-i wasn't waitlisted or anything, i just got in--(even though my SAT scores were lower than they "expect"). It's really about total package, not just that your SATs are a good score.
I am a horrible standardized test taker, but I knew that about myself going into the test. you may just have the same problem-lots of people do.
if you do want to retake it, though, just give yourself time and study, don't cram. cram, cram because you will burn out.

1.) Buy a SAT Preparation book.
2.) Go to this website and purchase the "When There's a Will, There's an A" dvd set and workbook @
http://www.wheretheresawill.com/
I know this sounds corny but it teaches you what to do in standardized tests and it is better than spending $1,500.00 going to the Sylvan school of learning when you can learn it for cheaper.
3.) Follow the steps religiously. You'll pass the SAT with higher scores. I used the workbook when I went to college and aced my placement tests.
Good luck!!!

If you are concerned that you are not going to get into the colleg you want because of your scores then I would recommend going to a place like the Sylvan learning center who can teach you how to read the questions and not read too much into them. In order to better answer them. If you are just worried about the number itself then forget it. It means you were nervous and when it comes to it (the daily work) you have what it takes. I comepletly disagree with standardized tests and in no way can they score a person's intelligence. Don't let it bother you. If you are the kind of person that it does though and you are going to be haunted the rest of your life thought that the score was not what you are used to then go to Sylvan. They can help improve your score tremendously,

IT IS ALL IN YOUR HEAD. YOU DO BETTER ON QUIZS BECAUSE YOU THINK YOU ARE MORE PREPARED. THE STANDARDIZED TESTS YOU FEEL TENSE AND UNCOMFORTABLE. DO YOU REMEMBER THE QUESTIONS ON THE TEST??? OH OH OH DUDE GO ON LINE AND STUDY FOR IT. THAT WAY YOU WILL BE PREPARED. OR AT LEAST FEEL MORE PREPARED. STUDY AND DO TAKE THE TEST OVER IF YOU WANT.
