Looking for a monitor adapter - Mac Performa to PC?

Question

My old Performa monitor died & I'd like to plug in a PC monitor. The Mac is a Performa 6200 CD. The video card is pre PCI capable - R, G and B outputs are discreet - card's okay - using a borrowed 12" (I think) Mac display.

If I know EXACTLY what I need, I'll try finding it in a Yahoo! Auction.

You can use any VGA monitor with an adapter. VGA is the most common standard for CRT monitors and some older LCD/flat-panels, so if you have a "PC monitor" it's probably VGA. The link has pics if you aren't sure.

Your Performa wants a Mac Video connection, so to hook up the VGA monitor, you'll need a Mac Video to VGA adapter. Mac Video ports can also be referred to as DB15.

If you're talking to a salesperson, make sure they understand you have an old Mac. Since "Mac Video" sounds rather generic, and modern Macs no longer use it, it might be confusing! If they are trying to tell you that you have VGA or DVI already, they aren't getting what you're saying.
