I would not use any detergent that they sell at the auto parts store as they contain corrosive agents. The only thing we would use to clean the injectors while they are in the car is Barry Grant injection system cleaner, and i have tried numerous other system to clean customer's car's and came across the Barry Grant's system and was amazed, we had cars that failed smog testing because of bad injectors, after the cleaning, it would pass with flying colours. It is only available thru a mechanic shop as it needs specialized equipment. Your injectors has seals and a small needle that is very sensitve to forgien stuff (chemicals, debris) so i wouldn't trust any automotive store stuff, take it to a professional shop to get it done. I would rather pay 100 bucks to get them cleaned rather then 600 bucks to replace them only to save 80 bucks on a 20 dollar bottle of crap.

The only in tank fuel injector cleaner that is worth anything is the one by "Techtron" (Chevron) in the black bottle, about $10, it's the only one my friend sells at his shop, works great, add to fuel tank every oil change to keep those "Shower heads" flowing !
