because of the oil exploration activityies in the niger delta nigeria there have been constant disruption of oil instalations and killings/kidnapping of expartriate workers.

These kidnapping and anger from these communities is because the oil explorations expose residents to health hazards but the explorers do not compensate them.It should be a win-win case. Why would you expose people to hazardous materials and not help the community with some basic amenities? Communities trade their lands to investors for profit not for loss.
If these had happened in any western country,citizens or residents would be given all the rights to fight against it and win but it's different in Africa.These expatriate workers are only interested in their gains and not the ordinary African who will be left with health problems and poverty because that is what the western world want to know Africans for, "Poverty and deprivation."
If a baby cries all the time,you will think of getting it something to put in its mouth to suck so that she doesn't cry anymore. Same applies to this situation.If people compromise their health for your gains then they expect to also win.

Equitable distribution of national wealth such as the huge oil revenue; total eradication of corruption which is rampant all over the place; rapid development of the country with added attention to least developed or impoverished parts of the country!

Solution is to give the villagers what is due to them. By cheating the villagers and members of that land they workers will have it given to them.
