If I can't get dates, and I say I can't get dates, that is an inconvenient truth.

If I can't get dates, and I say I can just to show off, then that is a convenient lie. But given that it is a known lie, the fact still remains that I can't get dates.

It would then follow that an inconvenient truth and a convenient lie are the same thing.

Are they not? Discuss.
