If I promise someone something, come hell or high water I will keep that promise. I will never make a promise I don't think I can keep. But I also know some people will promise someone the moon and have no intention of keeping it. You have to learn to know the person and their character.
Once in awhile some un- forseen thing can happen, and a promise maybe can't be full filled when promised but can be at a later date.

I don't believe in promises as much as I used to. It seems that people don't mean what they say and aren't honest anymore.

Depends on who makes them & what the promise is.

If it's a promise not to tell about something that you or they did wrong (stealing, murder, rape) then it should be told.

But if it's something that doesn't effect anyone in an harmful way, then it should be kept.

Just be sure that you tell it to only one person, & and that person isn't a known gossip.

hmmmm good question..not from the average person..most people have no idea what a Promise really means...

No one has ever really promised me anything...

So I suppose I'd believe in them if they were ever made.

But it would also depend on who made them.

For me to believe anything, they have to come from people I trust.
