compromise means the other person gets whatever it is you object to - unless I'm being uncharacteristically selfish or possesive compromise is not a good thing - I have to live by at least a minimum set of standards I can reconcile

Yep it is in my personal life but I try to do it at work when I think I can learn from the other person and it is not something specific that has to be a certain way and so on.
