I've heard some neet things about Gmail, but it has all been secondhand. I tried to sign up for it, that's when I discovered that it's not a "sign up" type of a deal. It turns out that nobody I know has Gmail. So if someone could help me out with an invite to Gmail that would be great, and much appreciated : )

If you have a cell phone with text capability you can go get a code sent to your cell phone which will let you sign up for free.
Go to the registration site and then sign up using a cell phone.
