First, I apologize in advance if I am not PC. My intention is not to offend anybody. I've often wondered the same thing about anyone that is of a mixed race. If you are 1/2 white and 1/2 something else, the 1/2 something else is always considered as the primary race and I don't know why that is.

Well yes he's mixed. But he considers himself a Black man. Which he's stated more than once. He looks Black, so therefore he will be considered Black. He goes to a predominately Black church, married a Black woman, and has Black kids.

It absolutely reflects the hidden racists attitudes of people, especially in the U.S. We are very quick to try to find a labeled box to throw someone in : "White," "Black, Not Hispanic", "Asian.." If people can't find a box or a label to slap onto you, they become uncomfortable. It's so sad.

Ummmm. I don't think they're necessarily hidden. That being said, if Obama wants to be called black, then there's your answer. I'm a half-caste too, and depending on my mood I check different "race" boxes on questionnaires, especially if there's no "mixed" box to check. When you're mixed, society tries to make you choose one ethnicity over another. See race discussions on Tiger Woods.

Yes, it does. One drop of black ink spoils the whole cup of milk. That's the way it has been for centuries.

If he calls himself black, why are you upset or questioning that? I think that tells more about you than him.
