How did your friends/family/coworkers come up with it? I'm a firm believer that the more nicknames you have is a sign of how much you are respected/loved.

Lexi: Because my name is Alexis

Bia: In junior high, my friends and I made codenames for each other so no one knew who we were talking about. There was this guy I liked and we code named him Bob. My code name was Mia. We combined them together and made Bia. Kinda sounds like a prostitue huh?

Cindy Vortex: The dude I liked was extremely smart and I mean very very smart. I would also make fun of him because he was my buddy and it was fun. And I always tried to beat him in school by trying to be smarter but I rarely ever succeeded. Kinda like Jimmy Neutron and Cindy Vortex. The dude I liked was called Jimmy too.

Ashley: Awhile back we had to write a story that was like a fairytale. My friend thought would look extremely cute with this other guy who I had no interest in. Then he thought it would be funny to add my best friend in the story. So he wrote about how me and my best friend were fighting for the guy. He was nice and replaced the names. My friend was Melinda, the guy was Vallecito (a street name). And I was Ashley.

Fat-A: My friend is extremely skinny. I mean she's so skinny she looks anorexic but she's not. One day when I gave her a hug, I told her it was like I was hugging carboard. She got all pissed and said "Well, you're a Fat-A!!!" So I call her cardboard and she calls me Fat-A.

Squishy: My friend loves giving hugs and when I give this certain friend a hug, it's like really squishy and I told her that. So she calls me squishy and I call her squishy.

Pumpkin Face: My other friend absolutely hates my friend who looks anorexic. I have no idea why. She said it was because she's waaay to nice and she has a pancake face. So I got to tell my friend what she said and got all pissed again because thats what I started calling her just for the fun of it so she started calling me Pumpkin Face.

Punkie: My mom said that when I was a baby, my face looked like a pumpkin she she called me Punkie.

Teh-Teh: I'm filipino in Tagalog, Ate means older sister. My little sister, when she was a baby, couldn't say Ate so she would say Teh-Teh.

I think theres more but I can't think. That took me awile.

My nickname as a kid was "chipmunk" because I had huge cheeks, especially when I smiled. As a teenager, it was "JQ", because I hated my real name, and now as an adult, it is "Jake" (I'm a girl!) because at a tequila party (where I had a few too many) with my work colleagues, I tried to introduce myself to someone and all that came out from "JQ" was "Jaykkk..." Ahem, well, it is a memorable nickname...
