peter schmeichel
quite a lot of saves but one that stand out is his save on marco van basten's penalty kick in the euro 92 semis.
and yeah, THAT penalty save on dennis bergkamp during the FA Cup semis against ARSEnil in 1999 enroute to Man Utd winning the treble.
this gets better, ever remember the lead up to teddy sherigham's equaliser at the 1999 CL finals against bayern? schmeichel ran to help the attack, confused the german, and they say the rest was history. solskjaer won it for man utd but the great dane played his bit.

Outside of Lev Yashin, I think Gordon Banks was an awesome goalie. His most awesome save...in my opinion it was his miraculous save from Pele in the 1970 WC. Pele rose high in the air to smash a well directed header toward the bottom corner of the net. Before it even went in Pele was jumping around shouting out goal and celebrating. Banks just flung himself sideways, in a split second and knocked the ball over the crossbar. Pele said after the game " it was an impossible save, he came from nowhere to make an impossible play."
