The most crowded parts of the route are Oxford St and Flinders St. The least crowded are Moore Park Road and Driver Avenue. Driver Avenue has the seating for the Bobby Golsmith Foundation. Booking a seat here has great advantages - comfort, a guaranteed view, your own bar facilities and toilets. You also get some entertainment while you are waiting for the parade to arrive. I don't know the cost but it is easy enough to find out. If you want the best, that's the place to go.

After that, you should be in the street when the barricades go up in about five minutes. Get a spot fo you and your friends by the barriers and don't move. Let no-one in front of you and be prepared to repel boarders. You will be fine until 30 minutes before the parade arrives when people who think they can arrive with five minutes to spare will be able to push their way to the front. If you got there first, you stay there even if you are the size of King Kong.

If you are arriving late, head for Moore Park Road or Driver Avenue, you will get a better view than Oxford or Flinders.

Oxford Street, Surry Hills. Just hail a taxi and ask for the Mardi Gras.
