There are many songs where the bass part is so simple, it seems anyone can do it. I mean, hard funky stuff is really difficult but easy stuff is so easy .. feels like bass is easier than guitar.

I haven't ever had the chance to use a Bass guitar, but from hearing alot of music , that's the impression i get. Is it true that bass is really easy especially on easy songs( romantic, slow, or whatever)??

There's a lot more to playing the bass than just plucking the strings and hoping the right notes come out. Feeling is crucial. If you just play without any emotion, your bass-playing is going to suck. You also have to be able to mix well with your drummer. Make sure whatever the drummer plays is reflected in your rythm on bass. Listen to any RHCP album. Also important is your ability to play chords, but not chords like a regular guitar. Whatever your guitar, piano, or lead instrument is playing, you have to know the chords and know what notes go in those chords. Playing just the root note is boring, which is why there aren't many good bass players anymore. Knowing the third and fifth in addition to the root will make your bass riffs a lot more interesting.

easy to learn, difficult to master. you can learn to play simple notes on bass and yet still sound terrible and unoriginal. You can even over play bass and sound bad. I find that less guitarists learn their scales than bassist. Bass are single note players and are required to learn the entire scale whereas guitarist just stick with chords. If you're a good musician, you learn both!

no instrument is "easy" all takes practice. basses are the foundation upon which songs r written

It's one of the easiest instruments to play. But it is one of the hardest to master.
