I only have a few cigars on the weekends. I like to at a bar. It's not as fun at home.
Many these days are thinking that second hand smoke is like lethal. Because it hurts someone else.
You can hurt others too.
So, in a bar, everyone says alcohol poses no risk to others. Isn't there a risk of damaging your liver from alcohol. Can't you get drunk and get into a wrek? Isn't there a risk of becoming an alcoholic? What about the parents that drink with young kids?
Think God the politics like alcohol. Otherwise, they would try to ban that too.
Everyone says it stinks and there is a risk of lung cancer.
Okay- That's fine and it's up to a person's belief.
If you think there is a risk, don't go.
Is there anyone telling you to go to the bar that allows smoking????
Why ban smoking in bars???????? It's a bar, not a family restaruant. Not a daycare center.
When you are in a bar. You have to be 21. Your not a kid anymore. Why get government involved then?

Don't light the grill outside either.
Don't be around a campfire either if you are worried about smoke.
Don't live in a city. You know, the towns that have car exhaust trapped in during hot summer days.

I like alcohol and drink it during the weekends.
You anti-smoking people that get flat drunk need to think about this.
What about your judgement around others? What would happen if you had to make an important decision? while drinking.
What would happen if you were too drunk to help someone?
Ya, smoking only hurts you and others?
Get an f'n life.

I think the government needs to butt out. (Pun unintended) You're dead on about them and they're alcohol, too. If they didn't like it so much, they'd be on the prowl to make everyone stop drinking it. Next they're going for fatty foods. Because we're too stupid to decide what to eat.
I don't smoke and I don't drink, but you have a right to do it. For the time being, at least.

hi, i'm from California, and that they have banned smoking in bars, eating places, and exceedingly plenty all indoor public places for an prolonged time now. My husband and that i very own a bar/pool hall and we like the undeniable fact that it fairly is smoke-loose. The ban replaced into imposed to guard workers from 2d-hand smoke. think of being a non-smoker who's subjected to 2d- hand smoke for 8 hours an afternoon, 5 days a week. that's like smoking quite a few packs of cigarettes an afternoon, without the income of a filter out. To me, that's way much less honest than a smoker having to step exterior for the time of one cigarette. there's a loophole interior the regulation, nevertheless. The regulation states that an enterprise can no longer concern his workers to smoke. If the owner of the enterprise is likewise the bartender, then he's not subjecting any workers to smoke. perhaps you may desire to attempt to locate a bar like that. additionally, some bar proprietors could decide for to maintain paying the fines, and permit people smoke besides. people who smoke have been implementing thier smoke on anybody else for an prolonged time now. i think of it fairly is approximately time the tables have been grew to become, frankly. yet i'm valuable you would be waiting to locate a place that suits you. you may desire to consistently attempt a cigar front room...

I definitely think it should be banned in bars. And this is coming from a social smoker. I smoke only when I drink, which almost always happens to be at the bar.
I think it should be banned because those who smoke (including myself every once in a while) can go out on the patio! I go outside at other people's houses, my own house, restaurants... etc. And, when the weather SUCKS we will be less inclined to want to smoke, therefore we will smoke less!? (Maybe!) I also like others to go have one with me if I have to go outside, so if it comes down to it and no one will go with me, then maybe I won't go at all!
I know, kind of silly answer, but I think it will help those who don't smoke (DEFINITELY) and even those who do, in a way.

I live in Ottawa, Canada, where smoking has been banned pretty much everywhere for a few years now...there was a landmark case where a waitress who never smoked a day in her life got lung cancer and died after working for 15 years in a restaurant where smoking was permitted...I'm a smoker myself, and the smoking ban is a drag, but it doesn't inflict our nasty habits on others, or prevent people from working at bars or restaurants...get used to it

Before too long, smoking will be banned from everywhere.
All I know is I'm a smoker, and when I drink, I like to smoke. Why not have some bars that are smoking and some that are not? Of course that won't happen though...
sigh...

I think everyone should take on a little responsibility. If you don't like smoking, then don't go to where that is happening such as a bar. If you don't like what is on tv, here's a thought...change the channel. Do we really want the government to regulate our entire life. If you're too stupid to make good decisions for yourself that should not mean everyone else should suffer.

Not me either.
I agree with you - but I also think that just driving a vehicle can pose a threat to others (there are countless automobile accidents, some of which are drunk drivers but others are sober). I also believe there are health risks in many of the foods we eat, medicines we take (look at all the possible side effects) and etc.

I think smoking shoule be banned EVERYWHERE in public. If you want to smoke then get yourself a six pack and have a bunch of your smoking drinking buddies over to your house, smoke and drink away. Please call them each a cab to take them home. Yes you can hurt others if you are drunk too but only if you are irresponsible. How would you like it if someone killed your three year old because they were irresponsible and crashed into your car killing your child. If you want to get drunk, ruin your liver and lungs then go for it but don't expect the rest of us to go down with you because we choose to take care of our bodies and our children

Not me. If people don't like it they can stay home. People always scream about smoking but what about all these companies who are pumping pollution out into our air and water?
