I studied at the local university and it worked out fine for me. Some people like to go further away because they like to have more freedom from their family and they want to discover different opportunities. It depends on what you want.

If you study locally you can live at home or visit home regularly. If you study further away then it may be harder to visit home and would obviously require more money for the trips.

how can you learn very much from people who are just like you. you need to learn from new experiences and people that are different from you. this is one of the reasons schools want to increase the diversity of the student body.

if you went to the local school it doesn't look like you tried very hard to go somewhere better. it looks as if you took the easiest rout to a higher education.

it would really be a continuation of high-school the same friends, reliant on your family, and the same surroundings.
