i will be going there soon, and have done most of the traditional tourist things there (been there every year for several years because familiy lives there) but i am interested in finding other things to do. Any ideas?

Well, there are the obvious ones.........Biltmore House in Asheville, stuff like that......good old fashioned tourist crap.
However, if you are willing to venture a little further affield, head on over towards Brevard, and get yourself on HWY 276 heading west, and take it on up the mountain. There are SEVERAL places of interest up that way, least of which would be Sliding Rock (geeez, can I remember wearing the seat out a few pairs of jeans on that rock), Looking Glass Falls, and a few other spots.....and that's all before you reach the Parkway at the top.

I spent a month one day in Hendersonville, NC. The most fun I had was leaving..!
