With the exception of sea snakes (which never leave the water) ALL snakes can climb. Maybe not very well, but they can still climb. Just like all snakes can swim. Scarlet kingsnakes are "supposed" to stay at or below ground level, they are found regularly at the tops of palm trees. I've watch ratsnakes climb stucco walls, all kinds of stuff. As long as it's not glass or totally smooth, yes, snakes can climb.
Saw a photo once that one of my father's friends took that showed an eastern diamondback rattlesnake up in a tree...

Most snakes can climb but some species are made for it. I owned a tree boa once and it got out of its cage and climbed into an air vent in my house. They can hang on to a branch and actually catch a bird or bat as they fly by.

i depends on what you mean by climb- enery snake Ive owned had demonstrated a remarkable ability to stretch an incredible length straight up a vertical surface. To be safe, a snake can stretch up a wall almost its whole body length, and as long as it has the slightest outcropping to lean its chin on, its gone. If you have a surface that is textured, and he has things to grab onto, he can climb up and up. Dont ever get your snake too close to a tree, you'll never get him down.

It depends on the species, but many snakes are very good climbers. Some even climb trees to eat eggs from birds' nests.

sure can, we used to walk in fields where there were BLUE RACERS. they were there sunning themselves and we,d walk onto them and scare them, they,d race across the ground to the edge of the fields. there were trees on the edge and once they reached them they,d spiral right up to the top to safety. if they get hungry enough they,ll eat bird eggs or baby birds. look at those bat caves
in the jungles, there are snakes hanging from the ceiling waiting for a flying meal.

it totally depends on the species, but most snakes can indeed climb trees to reach higher ground or to eat bird's eggs.

Yes, there are many kinds of snakes but they hide/hunt in trees often, also trees make great camoflage for hunting and sunning and some species hide there as well
