The man is more respected that all of the world leaders. He actually gets results when he sets out to do something. The fact that YOU don't care that millions of African children are dying every year because of greed and politics doesn't give you the right to berate those of us that do care and try to help in any way we can. Bono is an extraordinary man who uses his own money to help world peace without leaning to the right or to the left. This is a man that should be a world leader, but chooses peace and love though music. So many artists and leaders out there talk a big game but get nothing done.
Oh yeah, and get your figures right, usually he's going around the world to million dollar a plate lunches. Yes-he's paying for that, and take a guess where that money goes? AIDS research, ending hunger and poverty, and helping to end political barbarianism in Africa. Now you, my good man, are one of those people that want to put an end to this charity. That's fine, but this summer when you happen to get bit by a mosquito, I want you to think about the child is going to DIE from his/her bite. It could be you.

We all have hypocritical tendencies. I really wish people would stop criticizing Bono for trying to make a difference in the world. He's somebody who's out there using his clout for good rather than spending it flashing his privates for all to see or sailing in and out of rehab.
He grew up in working class Dublin with very little. What's wrong with him enjoying his money now? As a U2 fan, I want him to do that. I admire his efforts...If anything, I wish he'd spend LESS time on them and more time on his music with U2.

Your question started being extremely difficult to take seriously when you referred to them as "stupid people in Africa."
He might have his irritating points, but at least he's not some entirely-selfish blockhead who refuses to donate any money like other musicians. Regardless of what his true intentions might be, what he's doing will eventually benefit the ones who are in desperate need of help. Throw him a bone for merely trying to do good in the world.

Because some people actually care about Millions of suffering people. He's an activist who has actually provided the existence of this reality to many who would never had known and may care as opposed to the many who do know and care little.

RE :Why does anyone even care what bono has to say?
he is a proven hypocrite. he expects everyone to sacrifice for some stupid people in africa while he himself has 5 thousand dollar lunches and houses all over the world.
plus, he advocated for ireland to increase its donations to african causes, and when ireland then started taxing music productions, he moved his production company out of ireland to rotterdam to avoid paying taxes, all in the mean time wanting every other irish person to pay for his causes.
so why do even poeple acknowledge his existence?

Hi Mr. Racist-****, your right we shouldn't care about people in Africa because some celebrity say so. We should always care. Their not stupid, they work hard for little instead asking dumb questions on the Internet all day.
