My friend and I are on the same team, but we like to go at it 1 on 1. He is taller than I am, and i am quicker, but he backs up and puts a hand up. I do get past him, but he always come in with a block. Tell me what I could do to make him stop blocking me.

just fake a shot a few times to get him 2 move or drop his guard then go for a real 1 or move in for a layup...

Being that you are quicker use the baseline drive plenty, and do reverse layup do it correctly and it will be impossible that was MJ move the rim is like you shield because being quicker he gonna trail you, and if does block you it gonna be a foul. Practice your jumper since he is always laying back make him respect your jumper and when he does pick him apart. Drive hard to the basket then stop and pop at the free throw line this drive slow big men crazy. Keep your feet and motor running big men tire easily don't worry about blocks keep hustling and talk trash to make him play harder to tire him quickly trust you are the player with the advantage. Being only 6'2'' and getting to play in college I learned to use my body to shield the taller players away from the ball when I was attacking the basket. Alway try and maintain the rule of keeping yourself between your man and the ball. Another thing, keeping your shoulders square to the backboard makes it harder for a taller guy to block you, because they have to reach across your body(which is a foul) as opposed to just being able to reach above you. I've got moves that I've found very helpful, if you want time just ask. I teach to all the kids I coach.

taller players have a tendency to go for shot blocks against smaller players. Try pump faking and getting him up in the air, when hes on his way down you should get better looks at a shot.
If you can't get passed him and he is guarding you face up, try the up and under move. Drive up to the free throw line stop, pump fake, and as he is in the air duck under him and get the shot off.

Easy. You can do any of the following:
1. Pump fake and then side pivot.
2. Dribble towards him then cut backwards away from him and shoot the ball.
3. Or shake him and go for the easy layup.
4. Pretend to lay it up on one side and come from underneath to lay it in on the other side.
I play for my school and I always knew how to shake the tall guys. Good luck. Hope I helped.

Go Nate Robinson on him! When going up for a shot, fake the shot, or makes some moves to feint a shot and put it back up. You have to be quick with your arms though.

Stop playing with him, or get past him. All you have to do is make him drop his guard. In a way, make a strategy so that he cannot use his tallness against you.

when you have the ball have him defend you just inside the 3point line. and since you said your quicker, use your speed to get past him. so try mastering the cross-over move since you're quicker and make sure you perfect your jump shot and make it so you don't have to shoot the ball always by lay-ups.

when he checks u the ball u could either pump fake the 3 and take it to the hoop. or use ur dribbling and quickness to take him from outside to inside.....u could also try starting ur lay up earlier...take off from further away will affect the lay up but make it harder for him to get there and block u....

pump fake... if you can just go past him, and you're by the hoop, just pump fake and he'll jump in the air and you have a nice fade-away shot... or just do what i do, draw contact while driving towards the hoop
