I just moved to Houston, and since i've been here my face is so dry, that its hard to wear makeup. and it even itches. this has never happened before and i dont know what to do. I've tried so many things, does anyone have any good ideas that are not too costly?

I would suggest you to use deep hydration type of product for dry weather. Clinique dramatically different lotion is an excellent product. For very dry weather, you will need to add Clinique "Moisture On Call" on top after you put the dramatically different lotion. You may also need to buy other hydration mask to put it once a week. Another very good product is "Laneige Sleeping Pack" Laneige is a Korean brand and this is tranformational. It is a mask that you can put it on before you sleep and let it stay on when you sleep. You will have a fully hydrated face when you wake up...no oil no breakout since it is totally moisture.

H2O is another good brand. Duh...it is all H2O/moisture for your face!

Amy, Aloe Vera is said to be one of the best herbal remedies for all kinds of skin conditions. In the past, raw egg yokes, and all kinds of other crazy things have been used; however, as far as I know, Aloe Vera does actually have some scientific backing to it! Try not to use Botox until you are older because it is actually a bacteria toxin that freezes your face wherever it is injected. I have seen several TV programs where young women and men are using this at 20 years old or less- because this is a toxin that is produced by deadly bacteria from Botulism, your body could develop a resistance to it if you use it when you are young and it may not work later in life when you have serious wrinkles later on!

This type of skin needs regular feeding with thick, creamy, hydrating moisturizers-morning and night- to keep it in good condition and to avoid the premature aging to which dry skin is prone. Avoid products containing lanolin or any fragrance, which may stress your skin.
In an electric blender, whir 1 chopped, peeled peach with ¼ cup almond oil, 3 tablespoon rose water, 4 drops of tincture of benzoin, and (if desired) a few drops of orange oil or other perfume. Strain and store in the refrigerator. For more details see

I have VERY dry sensitive skin. I have been using Clinique's Dramatically Different Mosturizing Lotion for years now. I love it and it's the only lotion that doesn't clog my pores or cause irritation.

houston here also so i feel you. my dr. just told me that using lotions actually dry your skin more. he told me to use baby oil, however i dont see that working on your face without causing a nasty break out. i'd call a dermatologist and ask what they would recommend.
