Yes, I am.
We all have problems, we all have limitations, we all have shortcomings. If we blame those on someone else, then we're stuck with them. If we take ownership for them, we can *do* something about them.
A toast to personal accountability -- a rare but beautiful thing!

Obesity is a problem in this country, but you're right, there not forcing anything down anybody's throat. If an over weight person wants cookies there going to buy them anyway. It's like the people who are suing the cigarette companies. No one put a cigarette in there mouths. What a freaking joke. It's about self control and responsibility.

It's just laziness on her part. But it's not 100% her own fault. I do realize that in this society, moderation isn't entirely "important". Still, I'd like to say "Put the cookies down, you fat pig." It's not like they're FORCING her to eat them. I never blamed KFC or Eggroll King for making me fat, but I did do something about it (and now I get to brag about having a 22.6 BMI. Whee!) But I guess we're leaving the age of self-blame and straight into finger-pointing. Once some guy decided to sue McDonald's for his own fat ***, I guess she decided to seize the opportunity. She just didn't want to accept responsibility for her actions (or I guess "inaction" would be more appropriate). And, I think it's a crime that she's pinning the blame on GIRL SCOUTS. It's not like they have much going, compared to the Boy Scouts. And in a way, she's taking that moment of confidence from those girls.

Absolutely! Each of us is responsible for our bodies. We all have the option to keep ourselves healthy or just let go. The cookies are too less of a reason for obesity. It's a girl scout tradition selling cookies for fund raising. I cannot see why cookies could be blamed for obesity.. : D

I agree with you, and this has nothing to do with anything, but...
My friend's little sister was selling cookies, and she asked her neighbor to buy some, and her neighbor said to her, "I can't buy girl scout cookies anymore because girl scouts are pro-abortion," and practically slammed the door in her face! What is this world coming to?!

It's stupid. We can't go blaming our weight problems on McDonalds, girl scout cookies and everything else but ourselves. We have to take personal responsibility.
