According to the FBI's Uniform Crime Report, anyone, male or female has a significantly less chance of being injured by resisting an aggressor with a firearm. Even you comply completely with the aggressor you chances of getting hurt are still far greater than if you use armed resistance.
So it stands to reason that if choose not to be a victim that a person would be armed. It is just fact that men are generally larger and have more muscle mass and bone density that women do and therefore a woman is it a disadvantage when she faces a male aggressor. Men are also generally more apt to have experience in violent physical contact that most women are.
It is a personal choice, but if woman DOES chose to arm herself she needs to get competent instruction in handling a firearm safely, in marksmanship, in tactics with a firearm and in the legal use of a firearm for defense.
Good luck

in what ways?
the RapeEx? mace? tazers? knives? handguns?
I think many do need to and many will be responcible- but some will misuse these things.
and some will just have an accident.
I don't know if mandating a training course in order to carry protection such as this would be fair or not. I'm more concerned with mistakes than misuses.
what is a girl leaves her RapeEx in and forgets then proceeds with consenual intercourse? what is she misfires the gun?
and I wonder if men will feel this violates their constitutional rights to gender equality. and would this be giving credence to the idea that women are weaker?

I tried to convince a guy one time that if I wanted to take his gf from him and rape her he couldn't stop me unless he had a gun. A similar argument would be unless she had a gun.
But some people have such an emotional hatred of weapons that no amount of logic will convince them.
I would encourage my daughter to be armed if she were going to be alone at night or in a dangerous place.

I think that this should be a personal matter for each woman to consider, based on her life-style. I certainly have no problem with a woman arming herself, and recommend that she take classes so she can properly use her arms if needed.

Sure, if they knew how to use it and were trained.
Too bad for most Americans that they dont take gun safety classes and think that just owning one is enough. People dont take gun ownership seriously enough. Its either something to quench their fear or to prove their manhood.

men arm themselves, don't they??? of course, women should arm themselves. I'm a widow and alone....with the drug problem, you never know. people on drugs have no fear........when they break into someones house ,knowing they're at home.......you'd better be ready to arm yourself......because that's the ones you really need to fear.
