When someone becomes of legal age, they usually do not ask who your legal guardian is. If you happen to marry, a spouse is a spouse, not legal guardian. When you die and did not leave a last will and testament, your executor automatically becomes your spouse. I hope I answered your question.

No, you become husband and wife. You are not bound to support and take care of a spouse like a guardian is bound to take care of a minor child.

Adults get married; it's not for children. The law assumes a person who has married to be an adult. Which means if your spouse wants to; they can divorce you.

NO. No one can be your guardian when you are a legal adult of sound mind.

Someone would have to take a conservatorship out on an adult who was/is incompetent and that person may not necessarily be a spouse.
