I am a 9th grader living in the state of Tennessee, and my Advanced World History is terrible. She is very unorganized. I have been wainting for 7 weeks to take a quiz that I missed when I was on an excused absence from the principal. I have video on my cell phone of there being books, pens, pencils, etc. being throwm and other students getting kicked the bad part is this is going on while she is IN THE ROOM. Our classes is an hour and a half she may only teach for maybe 35 minutes if we are lucky, because the class will get out of hand. She doesn't give detenions because she doesn't want to stay afterschool. She has also NEVER wrote anyone up. Probably, only four other students and myself are actually trying to learn, BUT I AM BASICALLY BEING DENIED THAT. What can I do? Is she breaking the No Child Left Behind Act? PLEASE HELP :-)

Wow! Way to go! You are a breath of fresh air and certainly a testament that proves society dead wrong about doubting our young people. I can say with confidence I'm proud of you!

I'd say take it to your principal, and, if that doesn't work, take it up with the local School Board. You have a RIGHT to your education, and you should not be subjected to a chaotic mess in your classroom. Any teacher that incompetent should be replaced, or at least placed on administrative leave until she can address whatever reasons are allowing for her students to be let down. Remember, one person CAN and DOES make a difference. You can make that difference in that class, not just for you, but for others, by standing up for what is right and demanding access to proper education.

She isn't breaking the No Child Left Behind Act, but the local school board certainly has specific rules and regulations about teacher conduct and her inability to control her classroom, her lack of instruction, and her disorganization are all issues that any competent school board would address.

Go get 'em champ!

It is March. How long has this been going on? Did this class start this way in January? Are your parents aware of this? If they are not, and you wish it to stop, you MUST get them involved. Unfortunately, given how much time has passed and assuming the school year ends in June there may be little that can be accomplished.

If your parents get involved I would hope that the principal can get more staff involved to supervise the teacher and your unruly classmates. If that does not happen quickly odds are good that the class will deteriorate further.

For yourself I would urge you to do everything you can to focus your attention on yourself and mastering the materail in your text book. Complete all you assignments. Log your results. Track your own grades on quizes & test. You can learn the material on your own.

Good Luck!

Get over yourself.

Every other kid in the world would love to have a slacking teacher. You are the ONLY one in the whole USA who is whining because their teacher is not working enough.

I have a feeling you are one of those trouble making kids. Why does a 9th grader have a cell phone anyway.

So, if you really have a problem, Poindexter, read the text book, go to the library check out another book on World History, read it. Now you know every thing she is going to tell you anyway.

You are in ADVANCED class, do you really think you are in the position of being "Left Behind" the rest of the students?

Come on. You sound like my wife. Just looking for something to complain about.

I haven't been in school for a while, but I remember teachers like that. You get good ones and bad ones. Anyway you can get another teacher? Don't let it get to you. Keep looking for the education you deserve.

THIS TEACHER NEEDS TO TAKE CONTROL OF THE CLASS, THE CLASS IS OUTER CONTROL. YOU ARE BEING DENIED THE RIGHT TO LEARN AND AT THE END OF THE DAY YOU ARE GOING TO BE PULLED DOWN.

I THOUGHT ONE OF MY TEACHERS WAS DISORGAINISED

KEEP THE STUFF ON YOUR CELL PHONE AND GO TO THE PRINCIPAL AND INFORM HIM/HER WHAT THE HELL HAS BEEN GOING ON. good luck i wish you all the best
