It seems thats the way the U.S. likes to do things, another example being the metric system, it seems like everywhere they use it.....except in U.S. hmmmm , wouldnt it just be easier if the whole world used one system?
In relation to soccer, I think for one....other nations have amazing soccer leagues, ie) ARgentina, Italy, Holand, Spain, England, MExico, etc. they grow up in those countries watching soccer. Whereas in the U.S., we have a great baseball or basketball league and thats what most kids grow up watching.

Some of us do. But in general, American culture is formed on an idea of being inherently superior to others, much like the British empire was (and some still think that way.) It has a lot to do with the idea of being a "shining city on a hill," different and a prime example for all other people. I personally don't buy into it, as these are the same folks who passed out smallpox blankets to my ancestors and whatnot.

I'm black and I love soccer. Can't wait for the next World Cup. I could've sworn Brazil would have had it, but sadly they lost...Oh, well. I still love Ronaldinho, KaKa, and Ronaldo.
