I need to know if this board will support a faster processor.It currently has a Pentium 4 1.60 ghz and I want to go to a Pentium 4 3.0 or3.2 ghz processor if possible.The FSB on the one that's in this oldie but goodie is 400MHz-The new one I want to put in is 800MHz This is a new "Hobby" for me so if my questions seem a little dumb don't laugh too loud!! Thanks to who ever has the answer to my question

The board was made for HP so Asus couldn't tell me.Hp dosn't have any tech support because it's a older model.The manual for the board was printed awhile back so I couldn't find the answer there.

Quote:"according to the manual it simply states it "supports latest Intel Processor" ". i think the same after i read the manual, but i won't bet it would really work with a FSB 800 cpu at 3 or 3.2 ghz. i dont think you want to buy a 3 ghz cpu and then be stuck with it at working on 400mhz FSB at 1.5 ghz like the old cpu.

Odd, according ot the manual it simply states it "supports latest Intel Processor".
Guess you'll have to either call or email ASUS for exact info
BTW: Tthe "LA" board appears to be made ONLY for HP
