I am a 28 yr old mother of 5. And I am at ease and at piece of mind because I am totally secure with my protection that I have on my pc. But when I ask or answer questions, I am accused of being a spammer..or some sort of solicitor...I type every answer with an honest and whole heart! WHAT I am trying to educate people on, I am being the accused. I just want to know...do we all really know how at risk we are? I see and read all the time about people recommending Norton, AVG, and so on..well I trusted them too! And found out they were allowing HACKERS on my pc's!!! So what does that speak for itself?

I have been on the internet since Al Gore invented it...sorry you Al Gore fans..But I have trusted Norton since 1998...and kept it updated and downloaded AVG because it was 'highly' recommended...in a nut shell..I ran a free test with the security I currently use..and they found my pc full of hackers.....not to mention the money I spent on viruses that these so called wonderful protections allowed on my pc.
Let me remind that this was in the past...I now am FULLY pleased at at complete piece of mind with my protection now with Invisus Direct!

Do you receive any income or other considerations from the product you frequently shill on this site? If you do, you should indicate that in your answers, otherwise you are behaving in an unethical fashion, and are no better than spammers and spyware makers. If you are truly confident in the product you sell, why hide the fact that you get money from it? People seeking advice should be able to trust the source!
Edit:
For people who are wondering, I am referring to postings like this...

like Banks and Homeland Security? That is extremely misleading!

You said you know that you are secured... As a mother of 5, it is about time you know that nothing FREE is good.

Pay the money to secure yourself... AVG is not a recommended security software because ( IT IS FREE)

Jennifer, there's no question that no program is perfect. If Windows were a perfect OS, we wouldn't have to worry about security and third party security products.

So I have to ask 3 questions:

1. What other security products did you have up-to-date and active at the time you were "hacked" ?
2. How do you know you were hacked ?
3. How do you know Norton and/or AVG were used ?

Anti virus programs, are designed to intercept viruses, not hackers. There are a lot more than just viruses out there which means you'll need to be vigilant against all forms of attacks.

If you got hacked, I'd guess that you were the one who opened the door for them by opening an e-mail attachment that you shouldn't have opened or some other ridiculous thing.

People may get bummed if they find commercial links in posting or emails. Sometimes the more one expresses on the internet, the less one is, much like communication. People with "screen fatigue" take a slight quick, but they go away like a bad season, after they send some bunk email or fiddle with ones account. Program: Wait, Ignore, Continue.... I ain't even putting no bank account thing online, I'll tell you that.

I think programs are only as smart as the people using them, so in your case, you're not getting your moneys worth.
