I have a 10 gallon planted tank. I have a full spectrum bulb, a CO2 maker that uses sugar and yeast, flourish excel, and eco complete substrate. I spent all this damn money on it and for some reason the plants dont seem to be doing very well. Why is this? Any one please help!!!

What kinds of plants do you have? And what is the wattage of your light? Is it flourescent or incandescent?

Contrary to what the first poster claims, you do need CO2, depending on how much light you have and how fast the plants are growing.

Planted aquariums can be pretty difficult at first because it takes a little trial and error to find the right balance of light, nutrients, ect. If one thing is not just right, the whole thing will go out of whack.

for a ten gallon you don't need a co2 maker, just some fish in with the plants.
I have ten gallon with lots of plants and all i have is the spectrum light and cheap gravel about 2 1/2 inches. I put liquid fertiliser with iron once a week. make sure the water stays around 78 degrees and they should grow fine. if its algae that's killing them you can get a snail they are great and they don't damage the leaves. the best thing for plants are fish!!!!!!!
