Use the "Mount Vernon" method. (But don't exhaust yourself!).
In the "Mount Vernon" method you do one room completely, close the door on it, and then move on to the next room.

If there are hard floors, they should be swept. Real fanatics go along the baseboards and clean them, too.
If it's a carpeted room, vacuum the carpets.Ditto baseboards.
Once in a while, you will want to move ALL the furniture and sweep or vacuum under every item.
Window sills should be washed or dusted in each room.
Kitchen and bathroom floors should be mopped, after you've swept or vacuumed them. If you have pets or children running around, you might want to avoid harsh cleansers of any kind on the floor, and just use hot water for mopping.
If you can do so safely, the icebox and stove and other moveables in the kitchen should be shifted from the wall and the floor under them washed. With a gas stove, be very careful with the gas line back of it, or just don't move it at all.
Wash the counters and cabinet fronts in the kitchen.
Sometimes, you might want to wash out the interior of the icebox, and the stove interior. Again, if you have pets or children, skip the strong chemicals---it's not worth it.

You should have a cleaning party and let a group of friends come and help you clean it up from top to bottom. Make sure u clean out all the cabinents, wipe down the walls and baseboards and so forth. Then when you are finished u can sit back and enjoy your new clean home.

One room at a time. Start with the Kitchen. Clean everything properly, and WEAR GLOVES.
I like to clean the oven first as this is used for cooking and you don't really want to use someone else's mess. This also makes a mess and should be done first, so you don't go over things twice.
Use different sponges for different areas..
Don't use your kitchen bench sponge for floors or walls..(or,toilets..) you will be preparing food on it later..

Don't forget to clean exhaust fans and lights. And lightswitches, that's where germs are.

Good luck, put on some music and go for it! (Wear comfy, old clothes, too.)

I just finished talking to someone on the phone about this:)
We concluded that it's best to do all the closets either clean or paont them. That gives you someplace to put stuff as you clean the rest. Follow with the rooms you use the least and onto the other rooms. You have your hands full.
Good luck

I usually try to start in one room and get as much done in that room before I move on. Of course I bore easily or maybe I have ADD and I usually end up doing alittle in each room... I always do laundry along with everything else it makes it easier to get more done at once.

Call in a cleaning service (after checking references). For a big job like this, they are well worth the money.
